Q. What are the most common types of jobs you do for your clients?

A. I DJ any type of event, ranging from Birthday parties and Anniversaries to Weddings and Corporate functions. Also, I have performed at countless school events from Elementary School festivals to Middle School dances and University Greek Life. My music database is endless: Top 40, EDM/Dance, Beach, Country, Rock, Alternative, Jazz, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, Hip Hop/Rap, the list goes on... I work with each customer to determine music preferences and then create a unique playlist for the event.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. The best advice I can give is to find a DJ who is organized, motivated, reliable, and knowledgeable with all genres of music. At DJ Mike's Mic every customer feels they are the most important – you can contact me anytime with questions or requests. Furthermore, if you requests songs or genres that I do not currently have or am not familiar with, I am more than happy to purchase the songs and learn those genres of music.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Always ask for overtime rates. I have discovered that many competitors charge fees and/or different rates for extra hours. That is not how I run business – with DJ Mike's Mic overtime hours are billed at the normal hourly rate listed on our contract with no additional fees or charges.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. An individual looking to hire a DJ needs to sit down and meet with the DJ before hiring them. The consumer will immediately be able to determine the DJ's music/event knowledge and level of professionalism. If you do not get the good vibes or just have a bad gut feeling, do not hire them! DJ Mike's Mic offers free consultations to ensure everything runs smoothly at your event.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Customers should really consider their spending – in this industry you truly get what you pay for. Numerous people have called DJ Mike's Mic only days before the event because the DJ they had booked became "sick". DJ Mike's Mic is not the cheapest service in town, but dollar for dollar the quality of service and equipment is unmatched.
